Postcards from Florida, part 4

Tuesday, we drove over to Lake Wales, Florida to visit with Darla's aunt and uncle. They live on the east coast so we met half way. We enjoyed the 80 degree day at a place called Bok Tower. It is a beautiful park located at the highest elevation in central Florida. There is an unusual instrument called a carillon that is played everyday at 1 & 3. The carillon (Click carillon to hear what it sounds like) consists of 60 bronze bells ranging in weight from 16 pounds to nearly 12 tons. It is located near the top of the tower. You can read more about it at www.boksanctuary.org

Following Bok Tower, we went to Florida's Natural. This is a company that makes orange juice and other products from oranges. Tasty stuff.

Those bells were very interesting. Also some good news is that it's almost 30 degrees here today. Sounds like the warm weather will be with us until Tues. When it will be in the single digits. Thought this would help you on wanting to come back home. Sounds like you guys are having fun. Enjoy! Josh
